The other day, I saw Martha Stewart on Oprah. They had a fan who wanted more than anything to meet Martha. The fan's story was that she lost a teenaged son to cancer after a torturous battle. The woman was brought out on stage and said to Martha, 'You are an inspiration because of the way you got through your difficult times' - to which Martha replied: "My challenge was nothing compared to yours." I thought that was the perfect thing to say! It would've been very easy for Martha just to say - 'Thanks.'

I appreciate you posting this blog about Martha Stewart. We are all put through many trials in this life. What we pull from them is the real beauty. Sometimes things need to smack us in the face for us to learn the lesson needed. I agree, Martha handled her answer with grace, wisdom and class. I say to others often, "Be aware of your words. People are listening. Do you want your words to create a beautiful dream or do you want your words to be toxic and poisonous?" We are all students and we are all teachers. I love that!
